Different Psychic Abilities

Psychic powers are not limited to just one kind; there are several different types of psychic abilities and various illustrations of them. Every person has some form of extrasensory ability and if they are willing to develop them, they can become very useful. Psychic powers can be identified as merely having a very clear-cut inner gut feeling about a person or event to being able to channel spirits that has passed over to the other side.

Different types of psychic abilities can come in the form of sensing, touching or seeing. Generally speaking, psychics do rely heavily on their senses but some of the different types of psychic abilities do involve touching or sight.

Psychometry is one of the types of psychic abilities that require touch. Psychometry is the skill of being able to touch an object and reveal a great deal of knowledge about the owner of the item simply by the energy left by its possessor. This type of psychic talent is used when a clairvoyant is brought in on police murder case and the psychic is allowed to touch the murder weapon in order to gain information on the killer.

Aura reading is another example of different types of psychic abilities, for it uses eye-sight over sensing. Aura reading is the ability to see the energy fields that originate from living beings. Psychic ability can often make itself known through the seeing of energy fields, also known as auras. Children below the age of five naturally see a person’s aura; they are always looking above their parent’s heads as they stare into the colors floating above.

Although there has been quite a bit of debate over intuition, or empathic psychic abilities, it can be defined as a psychic gift. Intuition is one of the most powerful psychic talents and can be described as an ability to acquire information without reasoning or interference; it can be illustrated as a direct inner gut feeling. Intuition provides us with beliefs which we cannot necessarily justify. Out of all of the different types of psychic abilities, this one is not only the most powerful but also one of the most useful.
